Minor Case Straight Rye Sherry Cask Finished Whiskey
Minor Case Beam was a cousin of Jim Beam, who was also in the family distilling business before the calamity of prohibition occurred forcing him and his family to relocate to Canada. Now his descendants, Paul and Steve Beam, have returned to the US to restart the family business. This rye is named in honor of their ancestor and the inspiration for their business. This straight rye is a two year old whiskey, aged for an additional 8 months in Meier’s #44 sherry casks. The sherry casks give the whiskey an unusual spice and sweetness, with notes of raisin and cinnamon on the finish. Like all their offerings, this distillery shows a commitment to quality by avoiding chill filtration and the use of added color.Â
