Legent Whiskey
Legent is an unprecedented collaboration between Jim Beam’s Fred Noe and Suntory’s Shinji Fukuyo, two of the greatest whiskey makers working in the United States and Japan. It begins with an old bourbon recipe from Noe’s family archives, aged in new charred oak barrels for four years. The whiskey is then aged for an additional period in sherry casks and red wine casks. Fukuyo’s blending expertise comes in at this point, when he carefully combines the finished whiskeys with straight Kentucky Bourbon. This creation showcases the best of both worlds, showcasing the heart of Kentucky bourbon making traditions and the artistry of Japanese blending techniques. Spice and dried fruit complement the oak and vanilla flavors of the bourbon, and the finish long, and smooth with a refreshing tart note from the red wine.Â
