Laphroaig Select Single Malt Scotch
The Select is this Islay distillery’s experiment of taking whiskies from a number of different types of casks – Oloroso Sherry butts, white American oak, Pedro Ximenez seasoned hoggies, Quarter casks and first fill bourbon casks – and creating a blend unlike any other. The peat is still there, so lovers of peat do not fret, however it’s balanced very well with citrusy notes from the wood treatment, leading to an easy drinking, medium finish, light, floral peated scotch.
