CLIX Vodka
Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led America’s first pioneers westward. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making spirits the same way for more than 200 years. In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them westward, Master Distiller Harlen Davis Wheatley created CLIX Vodka.Â
CLIX, or 159 in Roman numerals, represents the 159 separate distillations that were required to produce this ultra-fine vodka. CLIX Vodka was made using red winter wheat, rye, yellow dent corn, and malted barley. Only 332 gallons of vodka, approximately 2,000 bottles were produced. Once distillation was complete, the vodka was placed into cool, stainless steel tanks for twelve months to ensure a smooth finish.
